Dr. Funk believes in transparency of treatment, openly providing rationale for the various methods of treatment available to her clients. She also encourages collaboration from her clients when setting treatment goals and making treatment-related decisions. Dr. Funk elicits feedback from her clients regularly to ensure that they receive the care they desire. Dr. Funk understands the importance of being one's own advocate in treatment, and hopes to provide her clients with the knowledge and tools to assist them in achieving their goals in treatment as well as in life. Federal Law dictates that you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" outlining how much your medical and mental health care will cost, as indicated in the No Surprises Act and effective as of January 1, 2022. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have health insurance, or who choose not to use health insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, which includes mental health care. You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, which includes mental health care. You can also ask your healthcare provider, or any provider you choose, for a "Good Faith Estimate" before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 USD more than your "Good Faith Estimate," you may dispute the bill. Make sure to keep a copy or take a picture of your "Good Faith Estimate," as you may need to refer to it later.
